- We use an external ISDN terminal adaptor to transfer 6Mb files to a
- remote host.
-
- Our old DOS program on a 486 or Pentium (both with 16550 uarts) could
- transfer this size file in approx 18 minutes (quite acceptable !!).
-
- When we use a Windows program on one of our Pentiums using Win95, we get
- the same throughput rate, but when using exactly the same Windows
- program on another of our Pentiums with Win95 we achieve a terrible
- thoughput rate.
-
- Both Pentiums have 16550 uarts and the same DTE speed is set on both
- (115000).
-
- Can anyone suggest what might be causing the drastic difference in
- speed. I must confess to not being an expert on the way 95 comm drivers
- work.
-
- Any help would be most appreciated.
